Who Owes Me is a ledger for keeping track of who owes you money. This policy explains what it stores, where it is kept, and what you can do about it. Migawe Technologies runs the app.
What we store
Only what the app needs to work:

Your phone number. It is how you sign in — there is no password and no email account to create.
•
Your books: the name you gave each one, its currency, its language, and what it is for.
•
Your customers: the names, phone numbers and notes you type in yourself, or pick from your phone's contacts.
•
Your entries: each amount, whether it was credit given or a payment received, its currency, its date and any description you added.
•
Basic analytics about how the app is used — which screens are opened, and which currency an entry was in. Never an amount, never a name, never a phone number.
We do not ask for your location, your photos, or anything else the app does not need. Reading your contacts is optional, happens only when you tap "Pick from contacts", and nothing is uploaded except the one name and number you choose.
Where it is kept
Your data is stored with Google Firebase, in Google's europe-west1 region. It travels there encrypted and is stored encrypted. It is also kept on your own phone so the app works with no signal, and syncs when you are back online.
It is your data
Your books belong to you. We do not sell them, rent them, or share them with advertisers — there are no advertisers. We do not use what is in your ledger to build a profile of you or of the people who owe you money.
You can export everything at any time from Settings, as a spreadsheet and as a full backup file. Nothing is held back and nothing is summarised: what comes out is what is in there.
Deleting your account
Settings, then “Delete my account”. It happens there and then, from your own phone: every book, every customer and every entry in them, your profile, and the account itself. Not a request queued for someone to action later — the records are gone by the time the screen closes.
If your last sign-in was a while ago, we send one more code to your number before closing the account. That is Google’s requirement, not ours, and by then your books have already been deleted.
Export your data first if you want to keep it. Deletion cannot be undone — not by you, and not by us. If anything goes wrong part-way, email mail@peomocracy.com and a person will finish it.
Who else sees it
Google Firebase, as the company that stores it for us. Nobody else. Reminders are not sent by us: when you tap Remind, the message opens in WhatsApp or your SMS app with the text filled in, and you press send. No message leaves your phone without you.
We would hand over data if the law required it, and we would tell you unless we were forbidden from doing so.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top of this page changes and we say so in the app. Continuing to use Who Owes Me after that means you accept the new version.
