These are the terms for using Who Owes Me, which is run by Migawe Technologies. Using the app means you accept them.
The records are yours to keep right
Who Owes Me writes down what you tell it. It does not check whether an amount is correct, whether a customer agrees with it, or whether a debt is real. You are responsible for what you record and for what you do with it.
That matters most in a disagreement. A statement from this app is your own record — the same standing as the exercise book it replaces — not an independent proof of anything.
Not financial or legal advice
Nothing in the app is advice. It does not lend money, hold money, move money, or tell you whether to extend credit to anyone. Amounts are never converted between currencies: each balance stays in the currency it was recorded in, because a conversion would be a guess and this is a record.
Reminders you send
When you tap Remind, the message opens in WhatsApp or your SMS app and you press send. It goes out under your name, from your number, and you are responsible for it — including for chasing the right person, for the tone, and for whatever your local rules say about contacting people about money.
Availability
We keep the app running as best we can, and it is built to work with no signal and sync later. We cannot promise it will never be down or never lose a connection, and we do not promise any particular level of service.
Two things you can do that we strongly suggest:

Export your data from Settings now and then, and keep the file somewhere safe.

Check that an entry you just recorded appears on the customer's page before you rely on it.
What we are liable for
To the extent the law allows, Migawe Technologies is not liable for money you fail to collect, for a debt somebody disputes, or for anything that follows from a record being wrong, missing or misread. The app is provided as it is.
Your account
Your phone number is your account. Keep access to it: anyone who can receive your SMS codes can reach your books. If you lose the number, email mail@peomocracy.com and we will do what we can, but we cannot always recover an account.
We may suspend an account being used to harass people or to break the law. We would tell you why.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, and the courts of Ghana have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes. Continuing to use Who Owes Me after that means you accept the new version.
